We love to travel as a family, but I admit – we have not done much travel to the Midwestern region of the U.S., and that has got to change. We lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin for a few years, so I was turned off by the abnormally cold winters and grueling hot summers!
I am a big warm weather-water-tropical-destination lover, so I would not normally look to the inner states to get my fix. I love traveling to the islands, such as Maui, Hawaii, Curacao, the Cook Islands, and even Costa Rica, and various places in Europe. Ohio is a destination to add to your bucket list – it’s closer and home to Clay’s Park Resort!
Where is Clay’s Park Resort?
I came across this awesome campground in North Lawrence, Ohio that I am just dying to take the kids to! Clay’s Park Resort, also known as Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park, is located just south of the city of Akron about 50 miles away from Cleveland, and is the ultimate summer camp and playground.
Clay’s Park has activities for both adults and kids, serving the whole family. They’ve got tents, RV, and resort-style camping in cabins, a 7,500 square-foot waterpark for kids, a miniature golf course, playgrounds, an indoor and outdoor pool, kayak excursions, water slides, hiking trails, a swimming lake with inflatable obstacle courses, various festivals and events, and more!

No matter how you like to sleep outdoors, Clay’s Park has a place for you to camp! You can choose to bring your RV, do some family tent camping, rent one of their lakefront cabins, or get a room in the luxury lodge for your stay.

There are so many fun activities at Clay’s!
There are several other attractions out of the water as well. Choose from laser tag, fishing at the lake, mini golf, playing at the kids’ playground, the arcade, taking a scenic bike ride on the trails, visiting the skate park, and even play a game or two of tennis, pickleball, basketball, and volleyball.
There are also plenty of events and activities at Clay’s Park that change on a weekly basis. Some of these activities include arts and crafts, movies and cartoons, breakfast socials, pizza parties, “hey hey” rides, nighttime laser tag, bedtime stories, and more. The waterpark, pools, and splash pad for kids
Of all of the things to do at Clay’s Park Resort and campgrounds in Ohio, I am most excited about the waterparks! I’m definitely a big kid, so all of this looks awesome!
There are multiple water attractions here. There is a water Adventure Park which is a huge play structure complete with waterslides, spray cannons, and mini slides for younger for kids, as well as a huge water spraying barrel. There is also a swimming lake complete with an inflatable obstacle course, more waterslides, a floating area, kayaks, and more!
From their website: “Clay’s Park offers something fun for everyone. Our 10 acre man-made, sand-bottom swimming lake features dual 150 ft. water slides, ring swings, zip lines, barrel roll, and a kid’s swimming area.”
