Bath time

We begin our bed time routine with a nice warm bubble bath, it’s soothing and cleansing. Kids are messy, so it’s important to have them bathe each day to rid them of all of the dirt and germs that they accumulate throughout the day. Plus, who wants to get into the bed dirty?

Brush those teeth

Teaching kids to get into the habit of brushing their teeth before bed time is so important, especially after they’ve been using their mouth and teeth all day. That place is bacteria city, so we’ve got to keep it clean! Potty one last time

Make sure you have your kiddos go potty before bed time, this helps to prevent unnecessary over night trips to the bathroom!

My bedtime routine - Kids reading before going to bed at night

Read a book

This is actually my favorite part of bed time, sitting, spending time, and reading a book with my kids. According to Scholastic, reading to your kids out loud each night builds vocabulary and fundamental literacy skills. This is so important for a child’s reading and language development, it truly helps kids to become independent readers and foster a love of life long learning and success. Here’s a list of the 100 best read aloud books for kids at bed time.

Bed time, lights out

We all know what this means! In the covers, eyes closed, lights off, and back rubs. Now, it’s time to drift away to dream land!
