Easter Egg Rice Krispies Treats

I have an ongoing partnership with Kellogg’s, where I share what I love about their cereals and other products. As a major fan of Rice Krispies Treats, it was only right that I create some rice krispies treat easter eggs in pastel colors that we decorate and eat at home.

To decorate the Easter egg treats

Let’s make these rice krispies Easter eggs!

These are really easy to make, I actually had half of this stuff in the pantry already. Here’s how to make these Easter cookies:

Roll out RIce Krispies Treats onto cookie sheet

Step 1: Put together the Rice Krispies Treats base

To prepare the Easter Rice Krispies Treats, melt the butter in a large saucepan. Add the marshmallows and stir until the mixture is thoroughly combined and completely melted. When it’s finished, remove the pan from heat and slowly stir in the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies with a spatula, making sure they are all coated with the marshmallow mixture.

Step 2: Roll out the krispy treat mixture

Transfer the marshmallow and rice krispy mixture to your cookie sheet, completely covering the surface and pressing it down along the edges.

Grab a piece of wax paper large enough to fit the cookie sheet and place it over the mixture. Take a rolling pin (technique from my girl Caryn) and roll it gently over the wax paper-covered mixture until it’s nice and flat. Allow the Rice Krispies treats to cool for 30 minutes.

Decorate your own Easter Rice Krispies Treat eggs

Step 3: Cut out the egg-shaped cookies and decorate

Remove the wax paper, take your Easter egg shaped cookie cuttersand cut away! Place cutouts onto the wax paper and decorate with Wilton cookie icing tubes.

Let the cookie icing and decorations dry for at least an hour. If you are storing these, cover the Easter egg treats in an air-tight container. Place your Easter egg Rice Krispies treats into poly bags and tie them with ribbon. That’s it, you’re done making these wonderful Easter treats!
