We love Disney theme parks, we’ve done both Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts here is the United States. Disney’s Shanghai Resort is open in Shanghai, China and these photos of Shanghai Disneyland are making us want to take a vacation there!

I am so thrilled that Disney has opened their Shanghai Disneyland Resort, it embodies all of the magic we know and love about Disneyland California and Walt Disney World theme parks with Chinese themed flair throughout. The resort opened up to the public June 16, 2016 and delighted guests with Shanghai Disneyland Park, an Disneytown shopping and dining entertainment district, two themed hotels, and recreational facilities. It is such a far away place, and we wanted to know just what it was like since we can’t quite visit – yet. Here are some photos of Shanghai Disneyland Resort.

Located at the heart of Shanghai Disneyland, Enchanted Storybook Castle shines as the park’s landmark. The tallest, largest and most interactive castle in any Disney park, it offers immersive attractions, an elegant table-service restaurant, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon for children and spectacular entertainment -both day and night. 1. We have lots of photos of Shanghai Disneyland Resort to share, but this absolutely has to be the first one. The iconic castle as Shanghai Disneyland is called Storybook Castle. It’s the largest and tallest of all of the Disney Parks’ castles and features a table service restaurant, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique salon for children, and an underground boat ride, Voyage to the Crystal Grotto!

2. This is the theme park’s iconic “Mickey Avenue” clock, being prepared before the Grand Opening of Shanghai Disney Resort on June 16, 2016 with the spectacular backdrop of the world’s largest Disney castle, The Enchanted Storybook Castle.

3. Family fun and memories are made with classic characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and royal Disney princesses. They gather at the Storybook Castle stage and perform throughout the day with song and dance, sharing the magic of Shanghai Disneyland with the Golden Fairytale Fanfare.

Designed especially for Shanghai Disneyland, the Alice in Wonderland Maze is the first attraction at a Disney park themed to Tim Burton’s live-action film “Alice in Wonderland.” In the experience, guests will choose their own path as they wind through Wonderland in a maze of sculpted hedges, stone garden walls, giant flowers and whimsical sculptures on their way to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. 4. There are both classic (Fantasyland, Tomorrowland) and new lands (Gardens of Imagination, Treasure Cove) and attractions at Shanghai Disneyland. This is the new Alice in Wonderland maze found in Fantasyland, it was designed especially for Shanghai Disneyland! In the experience, guests will choose their own path as they wind through Wonderland in a maze of sculpted hedges, stone garden walls, giant flowers and whimsical sculptures on their way to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party. In the Hundred Acre Wood, Hunny Pot Spin is a delightful family attraction where guests ride inside whirling honey pots in honor of Winnie the Pooh’s favorite food. 5. The Hunny Pot Spin is a fun family attraction that has guests ride in honey pots. These are similar to the spinning Mad Tea Party Cups ride at Disneyland and Magic Kingdom, but this one is an ode to Winnie The Pooh! Beneath a canopy strung with honey-dripping hives, friendly bees hum the Winnie the Pooh song to accompany the twirling guests. 6. Adventure Isle is a new land exclusive to Shanghai Disneyland, a spin off of Adventure Land. With the Roaring Mountain as its center, guests are guided through dark chasms and rolling currents to the heart of the ancient lost civilization of the Arbori people. There’s a Roaring Rapids ride, Soarin Over The Horizon hang gliding attraction, and features the live stage show Tarzan: Call of the Jungle.

The inspiring story of the Disney films "TRON" and "TRON: Legacy" become reality with the world premiere of TRON Lightcycle Power Run, a thrilling attraction in Tomorrowland at Shanghai Disneyland. 7. Move over, Space Mountain, there’s a new roller coaster in town! Based on the movie, TRON Lightcycle Power Run is a thrilling, twisting, action packed indoor coaster that lives in Tomorrowland Shanghai Disneyland. Buckle up, guests ride atop individual, two-wheeled Lightcycles, guests are launched into a mysterious game world of lights, projection and sound effects.

Shanghai Disneyland proudly presents the first-ever Mandarin stage production of the Broadway hit, THE LION KING. Guests can celebrate the “Circle of Life” during one of the most popular and acclaimed musicals of all time at the lavish 1,200-seat Walt Disney Grand Theatre in Disneytown. 8. Enjoy an adventure and celebrate the “Circle of Life” with THE LION KING stage production! 9. Shanghai Disneyland Hotel is absolutely STUNNING! This is a photo of the 3-story lobby, Art Nouveau inspired decor with a giant glass peony flower at the entrance capture guests attention. It’s one of the countless special Chinese features at the resort.

11. There are two hotels at Shanghai Disneyland Resort – and the Toy Story Hotel might be my favorite! This is a photo of the entrance, can you imagine stepping into the magical world of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and all things Toy Story?!

Guest rooms at the Toy Story Hotel are filled with fun around every corner, with 800 themed rooms featuring a touch of Disney magic and elements of the “Toy Story” films. Guests will be entertained every minute of their stay, even in the elevators with help from a few favorite “Toy Story” characters. 12. If you were happy to see the entrance of the Toy Story Hotel, these guest rooms might take your excitement to another level! Guest rooms at the Toy Story Hotel are filled with fun around every corner, with 800 themed rooms featuring a touch of Disney magic and elements of the “Toy Story” films. The walls, the floor, and even the bed spread have fun Toy Story themes, and the Toy Story crew has fun surprises to entertain guests in the elevators, too! Also important – THERE IS A RUBIX CUBE NIGHT STAND. I swear they think of everything, I need to see the lobby and other common areas!

The only place to find shu mai at Shanghai Disney Resort, the Wandering Moon Teahouse pays homage to the restless, creative spirit of China’s wandering poets, as well as the diverse and beautiful landscapes that inspired them. The restaurant recreates authentic Chinese architecture, with symbols from the mountains, ocean, desert, forest and rivers. Favorite Chinese dishes will be served at this quick-service location including Wagyu Beef Noodle Soup, with high-quality meat braised for eight hours, then served with fresh noodles and beef broth. 13. I love the iconic re-creation of authentic Chinese architecture of the Wandering Tea House. Located inside the Shanghai Disneyland Theme park at the Gardens of Imagination, this quick service restaurant menu features favorite Chinese dishes, and it is the only place to find shu mai!

A reflection of the colorful Captain Hector Barbossa, Barbossa’s Bounty is one of the largest restaurants in all of Shanghai Disneyland. Guests enjoy lively demonstrations of pirate chefs while noshing in the themed dining room of their choice. 14. Barbossa’s Bounty is one of the largest restaurants in all of Shanghai Disneyland. It is located in Treasure Cove and guests enjoy lively demonstrations of pirate chefs while noshing in the themed dining room of their choice. Guests can even choose to dine inside the thrilling attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure!

15. Ignite the Dream, a magical light, laser, and fireworks show, happens at night over the Enchanted Story Book Castle, mesmerizing guests with a spectacular show. What a perfect way to end the evening at one of the most magical places on earth! This is one of my favorite photos of Shanghai Disneyland Resort!
