5 Gourmet Cereal Creations To Try at Home from The Kellogg’s Recharge Bar

What if you were walking down the street in New York City one day, and saw a pop-up shop offering a free, nutritious breakfast? Well, if you were anywhere near Broadway and 54th last week, you could have! Kellogg’s set up their own breakfast bar, complete with cereal, fruit, nuts, milk, and more wholesome goodness to get your morning started off right!

I was in New York with the K Champs team and we got the chance to stop by the Kellogg’s Recharge Bar. I feel like so many people think of cereal as a quick, cheap option for breakfast, but don’t realize that it can be a complete, balanced meal when it’s done right. Breakfast is so important, it really starts off your day right with the fuel your body needs to get through, no matter what the day holds.

Kellogg’s teamed up with Dr. Stork, emergency physician and host of the award winning talk show, The Doctors, and Christina Tosi, milk creation expert and the founder of Momofuku Milk Bar, for health advice and tasty cereal creations that were sooo good!

Check out some of the items on the menu at the Kellogg’s Recharge Bar, and recreate them at home. Some of these are such great combinations that I never thought of doing. Either myself or someone on the K Champs team tried these, there wasn’t one that we wouldn’t recommend!

5 Gourmet Cereal Creations from the Kellogg’s Recharge Bar

1.  Banana Nut

This one uses Kellogg’s Special K cereal, slim milk, almond butter and fresh banana slices. I didn’t have this one personally, but someone said it was delicious and one of the more mild choices.

Kellogg's pistachio Lemon gourmet cereal

2.  Pistachio Lemon

Special K® and Kellogg’s Frosted Flakes® give this a sweet flavor base. Add pistachios, thyme and lemon zest for a twist on your regular morning cereal! I meant to try this one, but I ran out of room in my stomach. Danielle at Extraordinary Mommy says it tasted like Fruit Loops®.

3.  Cinnamon Apple

Colby at Days of A Domestic Dad, our newest K Champ team member, tried the Cinnamon Apple first.  It has Special K® protein cereal, plain yogurt, ground cinnamon and fresh apple slices.

Kellogg's Berry Au Lait Gourmet Cereal

4.  Berry Au Lait

THIS WAS THE BEST ONE. Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats®, Milk Bar cereal milk, ground coffee and fresh raspberries together taste unlike anything I have ever had! I added blueberries and substituted almond milk, the other milk is a sweet milk that was probably good, too. I had 3 bowls, no shame.

Kellogg's Tropical mermaid gourmet cereal

5.  Tropical Mermaid

Combine Kellogg’s Frosted Mini-Wheats and Rice Krispies®, then add milk, coconut, sesame seeds and pineapple slices for a delightful getaway in a bowl!

Please, give these creations a try. The Berry Au Lait was my favorite, the ground coffee really set it off! A serving of cereal, milk, and additions like raspberries, nuts, peaches, coconut, blueberries, and even coffee grounds can be a delicious was to make sure you are getting the protein and grains to recharge your body. Whether it’s Kellogg’s Raisin Bran or Frosted Mini-Wheats, with whole, 2%, or almond milk, your favorite cereal creation is simple to make!
