Does your family enjoy nature, wildlife and the outdoors? Do you often find yourself watching the Discovery Channel? If so, you are in for a real Disney-fied treat!

Disneynature Wings_Of_Life Blu-ray DVD

Disneynature, a film label that focuses on natural documentation films, released WINGS OF LIFE today on Blu-ray + DVD! Disneynature is also responsible for creating Oceans, African Cats, and Chimpanzee, all great works.
I got a chance to check out the WINGS OF LIFE film before it hit shelves, it’s such an awesome way to show how butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds interact with spring flowers to pollinate our planet. The intricate works of nature are far more complex than one could ever imagine, so it’s great to be able to take a closer look at the process.

About the movie…

From Disneynature, the studio that brought you Earth, Oceans, African Cats and Chimpanzee, comes Wings of Life — a stunning adventure full of intrigue, drama and mesmerizing beauty. Narrated by Meryl Streep, this intimate and unprecedented look at butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, bats and flowers is a celebration of life, as a third of the world’s food supply depends on these incredible — and increasingly threatened — creatures.

Here are a few images from the film, provided by Disneynature. Just a look at some of the awesome nature shots you’ll see in the film.

My kids are rather antsy, so I was delighted that they took an interest into this film. The high definition picture makes for wonderful viewing of nature’s animals, plants and their habitats and vivid colors. MJ asked, “How did they get so close to that bee without getting stung?” The answer: various digital cameras with up to 1500 frames per second, using a pinhole lens. This way, they could get close to the subject in it’s natural habitat without scaring it away. Such an intimate view!
Please check out Disneynature’s WINGS OF LIFE, now available on Blu-ray + DVD combo pack! With it, you will get a sneak peak at the 2014 movie BEARS, a story set scene in the wild in Alaska where two mother grizzly bears must share life lessons with their young cubs. Watch the WINGS OF LIFE trailer, and be sure to follow along with Disneynature on their websiteFacebook and Twitter profiles.

Life in nature is breathtaking, it’s worth it.
