The best Hawaii hotels for families on every island
Hawaii. It’s definitely the top destination to paradise within the U.S. When traveling to Hawaii with family, there are a bunch of different factors to consider. Can we afford it? What’s the best place to stay that has activities for all ages? Is it near family friendly attractions? Is it safe at night in the area? We always look at for suggestions and we usually book through them as well. If you are looking for not-so-expensive Hawaii hotels for families with some great reviews, check out this list with a hotel recommendation from each island:

The Best Hawaii Hotels for Families on Each Island

Island of Hawaii Family Hotel

The Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel on the big island of Hawaii seems to be a favorite among travelers with families. The location is great, access Kona’s shopping, dining, fishing pier and beach areas with ease and there is a host of things to rent at the beach rental counter. According to travelers, this hotel provides great value for your money, including cozy, clean rooms, a sparkling pool, hearty breakfast buffet (free for kids under 6) and a fun luau right on the property.

Island of Oahu Family Hotel

Need an Oahu hotel that is off the beaten path? There are plenty of Waikiki hotels to choose from, but the Aqua Lotus Honolulu Hotel caught my eye. It is one of the best Hawaii hotels for families because it is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough to get there if you wish. This hotel has recently been renovated and is nestled in a quiet, safe location surrounded by parks and residences. The beach is just a short walk away, you can see sweeping views of Diamond Head and the ocean right from your room. There are plenty of restaurants near by, some even deliver. Travelers report that the Aqua Lotus is a clean, comfortable, moderately priced hotel with amazing staff.

Island of Kauai Family Hotel

Your family will love a stay in a Hawaiian bungalow! The Castle Kiahuna Plantation and Beach Bungalows are a moderately priced paradise for families and the resort grounds are gorgeous. The hotel sits on 35 acres next to Poipu Beach on Kauai’s south shore. There is plenty of dining options in the area, as well as a wonderful swimming pool, perfect for adults and children alike! There is even a shallow toddler pool area and a deeper side with a waterslide for the older kids. One and two bedrooms are available.

Island of Maui Family Hotel

I feel like the island of Maui is known for it’s romantic setting, but that doesn’t mean that families can’t enjoy this spectacular island as well! The Hale Mahina Beach Resort features condos that have their own private beaches with snorkeling, boogie boarding and views of sea turtles swimming right by your room! The hotel is equipped with a pool and spa, there is a grocery store within walking distance, and there are lots of nearby restaurant options as well. This one of the perfect Hawaii hotels for families who are looking for a lot of space, you basically have an entire condo to yourselves as opposed to a tiny hotel room.

Island of Lanai Family Hotel

Lanai is the smallest island that can be accessed by the public in Hawaii. There is not a ton to do here, but if you find yourself in the market for a trip to Lanai, you could stay at Hotel Lanai. This little quaint hotel definitely has an “at home” feel, boasting a warm, inviting atmosphere, great food at the Lanai City Grille and comfortable rooms. There is a variety of water excursions near by, you can also take a shuttle to the Four Seasons near by for a bit more excitement. If you are looking for an affordable, no frills place to stay with Hawaiian charm, this is it.
