I don’t know about you all, but I have so much going on with my days that it gets overwhelming! I seem to switch hats throughout the day, and when I can finally get out of work/parent mode, it is very important to set aside a little bit of time for ME. In order to de-stress and feel happy, I make time for enjoying the little things in life that I love. This could be a quick 15 minute run around the neighborhood, an episode of one of my favorite TV shows, or even a piece of dark chocolate before bed (shhh… don’t tell the kids!). Even when I am spread thin, I really try to make sure that I do something that is self-serving each day.
One of my favorite activities is spending time on the couch reading with my daughter. When we’re reading, I don’t want to spend time in the kitchen cooking dinner. Instead, I’ll open a can of Black Bean with Red Quinoa Well Yes! soup and warm it quickly on the stove. That way, I can spend the rest of the evening reading with my daughter. When I serve Well Yes! soup, I ensure my family is getting a delicious dinner that’s free of any artificial flavors, colors or ingredients, and that’s important to me!
