Drink Your Veggies | Green and Lean Smoothie Recipe

 

You know it. I know it. We all know it. Fresh vegetables and fruits are essential to a healthy diet, providing many vitamins, fibers and minerals the body needs to function. It is so difficult to eat enough greens, so why not drink em?

 

Now, it’s easier than ever to add greens to your diet with this Green and Lean Smoothie! This healthy smoothie recipe is actually made with all fresh ingredients, fruits and vegetables, and water. No sugar. No other additives. Just produce and water, baby! Vegan, gluten free, dairy free, just plain and simple fruits of nature.

 

 

The Taste:
This smoothie actually tastes sweet, really, it does! It mostly has an apple flavor with a bit of pineapple. If you use a bunch of greens, you can taste them, but just a little bit. I make this all the time and take shots of it in the morning to start my day. My kids also drink it, my daughter loves it in her sippy cup and once MJ got past the green color and tasted it, he liked it too.

 

 

 

The Green and Lean Smoothie

 

Ingredients:

1 handful of fresh kale
1 handful of fresh spinach leaves
1 whole apple, diced
1 cup strawberries, diced
1 cup pineapples, diced
2 cups of water (some use apple juice for sweetness)

 

Plug up that blender, were getting started!

 

Your basically just gonna toss in all of the ingredients and blend. Start with the fruits and veggies, pour in most of the water and turn on the blender. Let it go for about 30 seconds, adding more water if necessary. You can always use more or less liquid based upon how thick you like your smoothie.

 

Once everything is completely blended together, pour into a glass and enjoy! Store left overs in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed container, mine lasted about 4 days.
