Embassy Suites Hotel: A Family and Budget Friendly Stay!

We are about halfway through the summer, our family is having a blast! We have been to Disneyland, Mexico, The Del Mar Fair, and we’re going camping in August. Lots of fun, but also lots of work. Oy. Our most recent adventure was our fun stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel, here in sunny San Diego.

Can I just say that our stay was completely awesome? We stayed for one night, had a nice, sizely suite for the whole family, swam in their indoor pool, ate a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant, and woke up to a complimentary breakfast! We were able to get the most out of our vacation, we didn’t have too much pre-planning to do since we stayed in our city. I love staycationing, I could do this every day.

Each aspect of our stay was above and beyond what we expected. We were greeted by the valet attendant who graciously helped us with our bags and parked our car. The lobby was nice, bright and spacious and checking in with the friendly concierge was a breeze.

Each of the Embassy Suites hotels feature an indoor atrium style courtyard that makes you feel like you are in a rain forest! It was just beyond the lobby area, this location has a pond that streams through the atrium scenery and is filled with koi fish. This is the central part of the hotel, it can be overlooked from all floors of the hotel and serves as the dining area as well. The afternoon manager’s reception was in full swing when we checked in, so we were able to enjoy a few complimentary snacks and beverages before heading up to our room.

After dinner, we headed out for a late night swim! The indoor pool was perfect, it had gotten a little chilly out, so we would not have been able to swim otherwise. There is a jacuzzi, fresh towels and lounge chairs, and the fitness center is connected to the pool area. There were tons of families swimming so I didn’t have to worry about my kids bothering anyone with their splashing and loudness.

Retiring to our room was wonderful. After we cleaned up got settled, we melted into our comfortable beds and watched a little TV before falling asleep. MJ slept on the pull out couch bed and thought it was so awesome that he had his own TV, complete with video games, and that you could “put the bed away” in the morning! Especially helpful was the microwave and refrigerator, perfect for storing and heating food, water bottles and snacks for the kids.

When we woke up, we casually made our way downstairs for breakfast. I was expecting cereal, bagels, coffee, you know, the continental route. Not even close! There were a few chefs in the back making cooked to order omelets, piping hot pancakes, french toast, bacon, eggs, fresh fruit, delicious pastries, juices, coffee, the works! Warning: if you don’t get down there early, you may have to wait in line, this breakfast spread is quite popular!

Our family was comfortable and had a great stay at the Embassy Suites. I like that we didn’t have to wake up and race to check out, but we extended our stay a bit by hanging out for breakfast in the morning. My kids enjoyed swimming the most, they kept asking to go back to the pool. I will totally remember the kids splashing around, having a blast, and jumping back and forth from bed to bed in the hotel room! I will definitely look to stay at another Embassy Suites hotel in the future, family fun and budget friendly get an A+ in my book!
