Guess who’s been sick? BOTH KIDS. And when the kids are sick, they barely want to eat.
Well, do you wanna guess what they’ve been eating? I have been working with Kellogg’s this year on the #GreatStarts program, where we’ve shared lots on fun ideas and ways we enjoy their cereals, waffles, and snacks in our family. We love Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats, so it’s no surprise that we’d try them in a tasty snack recipe. Whole grain packed with just enough sweet, Frosted Mini Wheats have always been a favorite in our house for breakfast, and now for snack time!
If you’re having Christmas at your place this year, or just want to snack on something holiday like, you’ve got to try this trail mix recipe. A little nutty, a little sweet, and a lot of fiber and vitamins from the Mini Wheats. Set it out on the table to please guests, or sick kids, this holiday season!
Mini Wheats and Sweets Holiday Trail Mix
- 1 cup Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats Little Bites Cereal
- 1/2 cup whole almonds
- 1/2 cup cashews
- 1/4 cup red and green M&M’s
- 1/4 cup yogurt covered raisins
All you have to do is combine all ingredients into a large bowl and you’re set! The beauty of a trail mix recipe is that you can actually put whatever you want in it. I chose my family’s favorite ingredients, I suppose you could add dried cranberries, mini pretzels, popcorn, pistachios, and anything else that sounds good and matches the holiday theme.
The other night, we were sitting on the couch watching TV together. I break out the holiday trail mix and the kids, sick and sluggish, awaken with delight and decide to take over the bowl, making it their own! What kind of nerve…
I guess you don’t really need to ask if they liked it. Give this Mini Wheats and Sweets holiday trail mix a try, it’s good stuff!
What do you love in your trail mix?
