Home is where the heart is, and where your family lives, too! It’s important to keep it up and make it the place you want to call “home”, whether it’s a new place, or the house you’ve been in for years. I think The Home Depot understands that, which is why they’ve made it simple to stock the top quality products and shop for the stuff you need, when you need it. Living in San Diego, I visit their store every so often and I am happy they decided to up their commitment to their customers by expanding and remodeling the store!
Now, it’s easier than ever for San Diego locals to shop for their home improvement needs at The Home Depot’s newly remodeled location on Genesee Ave. I have been going to this location for years, I must say that the new look is spectacular! The store has been expanded, boasting a new outdoor garden center, a new, large appliance department, and plenty of knowledgeable staff members to help you with what you are looking for. It is easier than ever to find what you need, when you need it.

My family attended the grand re-opening event this week. It was “Neighborhood Night”, so there were plenty of locals, corporate folks, and families there to celebrate. They had the store all decked out with balloons and some fun stations: a caricature artist, a spin-the-wheel prize station, and a fun scavenger hunt throughout the store. My son is in love with scavenger hunts, so he was on a mission to solve every riddle and find every clue! We even got to meet and take photos with some iconic favorites: Homer the Home Depot mascot and The Energizer Bunny!
The Grand Opening Events
The kids had a great time! We wanted to get a caricature drawn, but the line was a little too long. MJ got lucky and won a Home Depot frisbee, perfect for the summer time! What I like best about the remodel is that the aisles are clearly marked with aisle numbers and their contents. I also think the new Garden Center is gorgeous, that’s where I bought my basil plants when I made these upcycled mini planters. The prices are very affordable, so take on any home project with the help of Home Depot!
If you are in the San Diego area, pay a visit to the newly remodeled Home Depot store on Genesee Avenue. It’s my top destination for all things HOME! Connect with the store via their Facebook page, or visit HomeDepot.com for additional locations in your area.
The newly reopened Home Depot Genesee now features a 40,000 square foot Outdoor Garden Center, larger kitchen and appliance showrooms, a millwork showroom, an improved Pro-Desk and expanded tool rental. It also provides workshops and events year-round that the whole family can participate in. Please visit https://www.facebook.com/Home.Depot.Genesee.Ca for more information.
