How To Dress Your Kids Cute, Comfy and On A Budget

Do your kids grow out of their clothes fast? I am sharing some ways to keep up with kids and their clothes in a partnership with Garanimals, a maker of cute, comfy and affordable clothes for kids. Here’s how to do it on a budget.

It’s no secret that kids grow super fast, like lighting speed! One day, their clothes and shoes fit just fine, and what seems like only a short time later, they’re already growing out of them. My kids grow out of their clothes about every 6 months, and they have plenty of life left in them. We try donating our clothes, and trading with other parents, but the problem remains.

So, what’s a mom to do? I realize that sometimes, buying new clothes is inevitable, but my kids need to be comfortable to feel their best. If quality, affordability and comfort are important to you, there are ways that you can get what you need on a budget. Here’s how to keep up with your growing children, without breaking your pockets.

Buy clothes a size up

This is my go to tip for kids clothes. I have always purchased clothing a size ahead, and let them wear the clothes whenever I need them to. Sometimes, a few pieces are a tad big, but they grow into them in due time, and can potentially wear them twice as long. Roll up the sleeves, pin them, cuff the pants, you got this! Plus, shop the sale section and find clothes in a size up to hold for the next season.

Look at affordable brands

Expensive clothes are really unnecessary, no need to pay extra for a label. One of my favorite value brands is Garanimals, they make kids clothes for boys and girls, from newborn on up to age 8! I have owned a few pieces over the years and I must say that they are perfect for my kids’ clothes short lived shelf life. Most of them last long after they grow out of them, and they have some cute styles! Garanimals line of clothing is sold at Walmart up to a 5T, look for their 365kids line for older kids up to age 8.

Keep it simple with coordinate pieces

Instead of buying tons of single pieces, buy color coordinating items that will go with multiple different outfit combinations. One bottom should match 3 tops, and those 2 tops should match another bottom, too. That way, 2 bottoms and 3 tops make 6 outfits, instead of 3!

  • It is a good idea to buy a size up. I didn’t really think about that. It would be nice though because then my daughter can wear the outfit a bit longer. Since they grow so fast it is hard to always be buying them new clothes!
