A Love for Reading: Kids Can Thrive With The Right Motivation!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Reading Eggs.

kids-sitting-on-booksReading is fundamental. I am sure we’ve all heard that time and time again, but it’s something that is super important. Early literacy is the foundation to learning about reading, language, comprehension, and crucial skills to prepare children for school.

I want my kids to learn to read, and LOVE it

Because it’s so important, y’all. When kids struggle, reading can become more of a task, rather than a necessity. The last thing I want to do is to push my kids too hard to the point where they back away. I got a chance to try out Reading Eggs, an online program for children ages 3-13 years to make learning to read tons of fun! The curriculum uses games, songs, golden eggs and other rewards as a great approach to make reading appealing, making kids WANT to try hard to learn these concepts.

The kicker here is that Reading Eggs has a game-style approach, which is huge for children. It can be used on the iPad, Android devices, and online. A team of experts in the field grabbed a bunch of concepts and resources to ensure success with this program. The interactive aspect of this allows kids to choose their own avatar that they control, they have their own house to decorate and navigate their way around Floating Island to create their own adventures. What a great way to encourage a positive attitude about learning to read!

Kid using Reading Eggs online program

The core reading curriculum uses online reading games, phonics activities, 1000 eBooks online, sight words and various lessons, all corresponding with your child’s age and skill level. MJ is using Reading Eggspress, the program that works to improve reading and spelling skills for current readers.

  • Reading Eggs, ages 3- 7: For beginning and early readers, 120 learn-to-read lessons and 96 spelling lessons.
  • Reading Eggspress, ages 7-13: For readers who can tackle early chapter books and beyond, 200 comprehension lessons and a library full of more than 1500 e-books.
  • Mathseeds: Another fun way to learn, this time it’s math. Fun games, activities and rewards are given with this educational experience. It teaches the basic concepts for kids ages 3-6.

MJ has always been a strong reader, so i’d like to continue that by challenging him above his grade level so he can go further. He is 6, and I have him in the 7-13 year old category. He’s doing great, I may have to up the skills level to add a greater challenge for him. This guy is totally into tablet and computer games, so it has become a reward for him to play. He gets so engaged and enjoys himself, I am not sure if he realizes all that he’s learning along the way! Try out Reading Eggs for your child and explore the possibilities of learning to read. Sign up for their FREE 5-week trial course, nothing to pay, nothing to lose. I recommend it.
