I will admit: I was never a member of the Marriott Rewards® program until recently. I often stay at Marriott properties, but I guess it never occurred to me that I should be taking advantage of all of perks that come with signing up. Recently, I was given a bunch of points and upgraded to Platinum Elite status to be able to check out a hotel of choice. We decided that since the weather is so gorgeous here in Southern California, we would have a quick getaway. We hit the road and headed North to Los Angeles, we stayed at the JW Marriott Santa Monica Le Marigot.
If you are ever in the Los Angeles area, this is THEE place to stay! I am not sure if you know about Marriott’s JW properties, but they are some of the finest right under the Ritz Carlton. This property is right by the beach, Santa Monica Pier, and so many nice restaurants and shops. Since we were Marriott Rewards® Platinum Elite guests, we were able to take advantage of so many great benefits. We got free wifi, late check out, and even our own dedicated Platinum Elite reservation line. I was glad that I could stay connected and check emails late at night after a fun and exhausting day at the beach and the pool.
Marriott Rewards® is free to join, and can be used at over 3,700 Marriott properties worldwide. Members have the ability to accrue and redeem points for more than just hotel rooms: frequent flyer miles, cruises, car rentals, merchandise and more items are included.
Marriott Rewards® is celebrating their 30th birthday with the Year of Surprises contest, where you can nominate someone who deserves celebrating and Marriott will throw them a huge surprise party! They are looking for the best, most creative submissions to be able to give a memorable experience, the second round is happening now and ends May 31st.
