It’s spooky. It’s eerie. It’s a whole lot of Disney character fun! Halloween is approaching and Disneyland is ready!
On select evenings in the month of October, Disneyland in Anaheim, CA is hosting Mickey’s Halloween Party. The whole park is transformed into a magical Disney adventure, Halloween style! Enjoy the fun spirit of Halloween by dressing up, enjoying the rides at night, hearing little belly laughs and trick or treating all over the park!
Eat, drink and be scary at this special event! Dress up your little souls, don a disguise of your own and trick-or-treat at Disneyland park, open only to party Guests on select nights. Access select attractions and enjoy exclusive entertainment, including the Halloween Screams fireworks spectacular, Mickey’s Costume Party Cavalcade, themed dance parties and wicked character photo ops.
My family got the chance to experience Mickey’s Halloween Party at Disneyland last week. It was such a fun time! It’s not the scary, haunted version of a Halloween party, instead think magical, child friendly and fun. If you have ever wondered what Disneyland looks like around Halloween time, you’ll enjoy these photos. The whole park is decked out with tons of pumpkins and Fall decor, balloons, signature Disney music, dramatic lighting effects and character meet and greets with Disney’s most famous villains. The entire atmosphere is quite surreal.
What not to miss at Mickey’s Halloween Party
Main Street USA Pumpkin Festival: Once you enter the park, Main Street USA will be bustling with Halloween fun to greet you. There are more than 300 carved pumpkins! This is where we saw The Evil Queen from the movie Snow White, Jafar from the movie Aladdin, and hit our first Trick or Treat Trail!
Trick or Treat Trails: They are in every land of the park. Follow the fun trail and collect candy along the way. They also hand out mini carrots, apple slices, and raisins. Good job, Disney! The best trick or treat trail is located in Tomorrowland and goes through the Innoventions Center. There were extra candy stations and Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb was hiding in there!
Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy: Tomorrowland’s popular attraction Space Mountain has been transformed into a Ghost Galaxy! My husband and I rode this speedy roller coaster, creepy creatures were jumping out at us around every corner, good thing we escaped! This is not for young children.
Mickey’s Costume Parade Cavalcade: We missed this one, but Mickey’s Costume Parade will be full of fun characters and floats traveling the parade route bringing lots of music, dancing and costume fun!
Haunted Mansion Holiday: Transformed into a Halloween delight with the help of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, this New Orleans Square attraction will scare up a ton of fun! Ginger-dread houses? Blood-curdling pies? I did not get a chance to go inside with my little ones, but the exterior is frighteningly fun!
…and in my opinion, the highlight…
The Halloween Screams Fireworks Spectacular Show: Fireworks are always fun, but this themed Halloween show takes the cake! It takes place right above the Sleeping Beauty castle at the end of Main Street. Combine Halloween music, flames, lights, fireworks and a spooky narrator in the sky and you have one amazing show! My whole family was in awe. I recommend arriving early to get a front and center view point. Don’t miss it!
We had such a good time, I love that Disneyland is celebrating Halloween all month long! I would go back every week if I could, i’m sure my kids wouldn’t have a problem with that! The party was sold out the night we went, but it didn’t feel too crowded and we were able to enjoy rides and attractions with hardly and wait time.
Mickey’s Halloween Party is a ticketed event on limited nights, so check for availability right away as this is a popular event. If you are in Southern California area, I encourage you to take your family!
Disclosure: I attended this event on behalf of Disney. All opinions are mine.
