Squeeze Breakfast In On The Go, Don’t Feel Guilty About It

I am exhausted. From the looks of it, she is too.

Since school has started, it has been, well, interesting. Adjusting to this new schedule has been hectic, it seems like we all have something happening all at once. As my kids are carted back and forth from school to sports, and from moms to dads, the dust hasn’t quite yet settled.

How many of you feel bad about not being able to cook breakfast for your family in the morning? I did, I will admit. I just don’t have time to. I am thankful for quick, simple breakfast options that we can take with us on the fly, without feeling guilty about it. Our recent go-to option has been Kellogg’s Frosted Mini Wheats, my kids love them! These filling little bite sized delights are full of whole grains, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals to ensure a great start to their day. They’re happy, i’m happy.

So much hustle and bustle in the morning, tears, sweat, hair, crying, hunger = UGH. There is something new every day. When we do have time to eat before we get out the door, we put our favorite Kellogg’s cereal in a bowl with fresh fruit and almond milk.

Here’s what we’ve been doing lately: cereal and fruit in a bag. Pack, grab, GO. And bring an individual milk along with.

It seems like we’re always flying out the door, probably 4 out of 5 days per week. My 7 year old is ok with getting up without a fuss on the second or third wake up call. My TODDLER? Another story. We have been waking up a bit earlier since we do lots of driving in the morning. When they’re eating something delicious in the car, they seem to get over the fact that they are tired, especially the toddler. As for me? I’m just happy they’re tummies are full of fuel for the school day.

Just throw it in the bag!

An early start to our morning is inevitable, but it doesn’t have to be that bad! Adequate rest, nutritious food and an encouraging smile are great ways to start your morning at school, work, meetings, or no matter where it may take you. Take your breakfast to go the easy way with Kellogg’s cereals. I also like their Raisin Bran and Special K, try your own gourmet cereal creations by adding fruit, nuts, honey, mint, and other specialty toppings. It’s easy. It’s tasty. It’s good for you!
