Looking for a hands on experience that your kids can learn from, putting their minds and hands to work? Want to attend a fun event and win a few prizes? I am all for fostering children’s creativity, so I thought it was cool awesome that The Boxtrolls movie has partnered with Imagination Foundation to introduce the Global Cardboard Challenge!
Why the cardboard box challenge?
The Boxtrolls movie is coming out in theaters September 26, and it looks like a really cute family film! Boxtrolls are creatures that live beneath the streets of the city of Cheesebridge, coming out only at night as people seem to be afraid of them. They are quirky and tinker with everything they find in the human would in all types of ways, which is why their clothes are made of cardboard boxes! The Boxtrolls adopt and raise a human orphan boy, Eggs, in their home, so his Boxtroll family is all he knows. The town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher, wants to get rid of The Boxtrolls so Eggs must come out into the world above the streets and jump into action to save his Boxtroll family.
The Imagination Foundation is a non-profit organization who’s mission is to foster creativity and entrepreneurship in children worldwide. It was only right that they got on board with The Boxtrolls for this fun event! The Boxtrolls Global Cardboard Challenge encourages kids to build their own box inspired costumes, using cardboard boxes as the material. Get creative, cut, color and decorate, it’s such fun! I am sure ya’ll remember when we built a Boxtroll, well now is your chance to make a life-sized one, and show it off to possibly win some prizes!
