Nectarines are a summer favorite, so why not take full advantage and make something delicious with them before they’re gone? As the summer winds down, we’re trying to get situated for school. To be completely honest, I’m just not ready for the warm weather and pool days to end. Who do I talk to in order to request an extension?

We’re riding the summer weather until the wheels fall off, and these cool nectarine drinks are hitting the spot! Give these nectarine mojitos with basil a try, a sweet flavor with a hint of basil and your favorite rum is the perfect refresher. Leave out the rum for a tasty beverage that the kids can enjoy as well, that’s how I made half of my batch!
Nectarine Mojitos with Basil Cocktail
Ingredients needed to make this basil rum cocktail:
- Nectarines, ripe
- Fresh basil leaves
- Limes
- Simple syrup or agave
- Club soda
- White rum
- Ice
How to make a mojito at home
Ok, this is a pretty easy drink to make. Muddle your basil leaves, nectarine, and half of the slices of lime in a cocktail shaker until thoroughly combined. I don’t have a muddler so I used a medium-sized bowl. It would have been way easier for me to use this cocktail shaker set with muddler.
Stir in your simple syrup until completely combined. Taste and add more, if necessary, to achieve the desired flavor. If your nectarine was very sweet, you may not want to use as much simple syrup in your nectarine mojitos.
Add the rum to your nectarine mixture
Add your club soda and rum (leave out the rum if you’re making it a virgin) into the shaker and mix. Pour the nectarine juice mixture over ice in a glass and garnish with the remaining lime slices and a few small basil leaves.
Serve these amazing summer drinks immediately, because it’s better that way. This is a really good basil rum cocktail and your guests will see it and won’t be able to wait!
Nectarine Mojitos with Basil Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 whole nectarine ripe
- 20 fresh basil leaves
- 1 lime cut into 10 thin slices
- 3 tbsp. simple syrup or agave
- 2 cups club soda
- 4 oz. white rum
- ice
Instructions
- Muddle basil leaves, nectarines, and half of the slices of lime in a cocktail shaker or bowl until thoroughly combined.
- Slowly stir in simple syrup, tasting as you go, and add more until you have achieved the desired flavor. If your nectarine was very sweet, you may not want to use as much simple syrup in your nectarine cocktail.
- Next, add club soda and rum and mix. Pour over ice in cocktail glasses and garnish with the remaining lime slices and a few small basil leaves.
