Want to see what the newest Marvel movie is like? My Black Panther movie review is a must read for movie goers and those interested in the film. The action, special effects, diversity, and inclusion in this film are like none other, it is going to blow you away!
I know you all know that I got to visit Los Angeles for the BLACK PANTHER premiere in Hollywood at the Dolby Theater, it was such an amazing event! Seeing the movie before it comes out means I get to share my Black Panther movie review, give my reaction, and let you all know what I thought about the film. This movie is full of fun, action, love, humor, diversity, and inclusion, and these are what the world needs right now. I believe BLACK PANTHER delivers!
Marvel’s Black Panther Movie Review – This Film Is Literally EVERYTHING.
Look, I will say this now. I am a fan of all of the movies that have come out since the first of the Marvel Studios releases, Iron Man, in 2008, so i was sure that I would like the Black Panther film. But listen, it was so much more than I anticipated and I just don’t have the words to properly convey how I feel! I will attempt to tell you what I love about this movie without giving up any spoilers.
Black Panther celebrates diversity and inclusion, FINALLY.
I thought it was important to start my Black Panther movie review with this section. If anything, the amount of inclusion and the diverse cast are wonderful reasons to see this movie alone. Never in the history of life do you have a giant corporation like Disney and the Marvel franchise with a budget like they have celebrate female empowerment and the strong African roots of that many black and Afro-latin Americans have, and do it in such a captivating way. The Black Panther movie is set in Wakanda, a beautiful, culture rich fictional African country that is run by royalty. The country has something special about it, and its royal throne is protected by the Dora Milaje, an all female group of personal guards of the King. Don’t try it, y’all. Just DON’T.
In this film, you will see traditional African clothing patterns, customs, accents, and tribal ways of living that exist on the continent. There is also the role of Shuri (Letitia Wright), T’Challa’s sister and the brains of Wakanda. She is all about science and technology, and the leaders of the country look to her for insight, a very intelligent role model for young black girls worldwide. Please name a giant, mainstream superhero movie that can include all of this. Oh wait – what? That’s right, because there are none!
The Black Panther cast is perfect, and I am digging the storyline
I am thrilled with the casting selections for this movie. T’Challa, and Black Panther, is played by Chadwick Boseman, and he is the most collected, humble King who wishes to protect his country and the people and resources of Wakanda. As a people, Wakandans only fight when necessary and show much respect to the land and other tribes in the region. Shuri (Letitia Wright) is the super smart princess of Wakanda and sister to T’Challa mentioned above, and villain Erik Killmonger (Michael B Jordan) comes for T’Challa and the throne (see below). There are many technological advancements that bring this story to life, and the special effects in some of the scenes are simply unreal!
The villain in Black Panther is not like others in the past
As mentioned above, Michael B Jordan plays the heck out of Erik Killmonger, the Black Panther movie villain. He isn’t some random enraged villain from another planet who wants to take over the universe, Killmonger has an actual story with Wakanda roots. I can’t say too much here, but he has a background that is very familiar to many of us in real life. There is a history, a story behind Killmonger and his choices, and why he becomes a villain to such a beautiful country that most seem to love. Family ties run deep, and it can be tough to feel alienated, hurt, and even unwanted. I’ll leave it at that, you will have to head to the theater to see what happens with this!
