We are sharing our Park MGM Hotel Las Vegas review and what it’s like for families to visit. Check out our stay in a Stay Well room at the remodeled Park MGM in Vegas.
The Park MGM Las Vegas Hotel & Casino
Viva Las Vegas! No matter when you go or why you’re there, Vegas is always a lively, hustling, and bustling city to visit. There is no shortage of hotels either. You can find everything from luxury Las Vegas-style accommodations in the middle of the action to smaller, budget hotels and inns around the outskirts of town.
A relaxing stay in Vegas at the Park
We are a family who likes a little bit of everything, so the Park MGM hotel in Vegas was perfect for us! The Park MGM was formerly the Monte Carlo Casino and Resort and re-opened when the renovation was completed in 2018. We stayed here in early 2022 and did enjoy the new, sleek nature-inspired look with florals, leaves, greens, and blues, its contemporary feel, and a more laid-back, calm vibe than many of the casinos and resorts located on the Las Vegas Strip.
Our Park MGM Hotel Las Vegas Review for Families
We actually were in Vegas for a few days for my daughter’s soccer tournament. Our team stayed here so we could be close to some of the action, but keep it low-key enough so that our kids were safe. It still has many Vegas-style resort perks, such as a casino, restaurants, bars, a spa, multiple pools, a salon, a fitness center, and more amenities.
This MGM property (not to be confused with the MGM Grand, which is the large green resort that sits on the south end of the Strip) sits right in the middle of The Park Las Vegas dining and entertainment district. It has a nice, relaxed atmosphere without all of the major party vibes that Vegas tends to have. It is much more chill and relaxed, and doesn’t have the wild party scene or the Vegas shows, like some of the other strip hotels. Park MGM is also dog friendly and a smoke-free hotel, which is a huge perk for us as a family!
This hotel is also home to NoMad Las Vegas, which is a swanky hotel with New York-style rooms and suites that give a more timeless, residential feel.
Park MGM Las Vegas is located at the center of the Strip
We love the location of the Park MGM hotel! It is in the middle of the strip in between the New York New York hotel and the City Center area, which is home to the Aria, Waldorf Astoria, Cosmopolitan, Vdara, and more. You can actually ride the Aria Express tram from the Park MGM hotel all the way through the City Center to the Bellagio hotel at no cost!
If you’re headed out to Vegas for a concert or event, you will be in the perfect spot. The T-Mobile Arena and Dolby Live concert venues are both within walking distance, and the Aria Express Tram (mentioned above) will take you to many more event venues in the area. Across Las Vegas Blvd. is the MGM Grand Resort, which is home to the MGM Grand Garden Arena and more entertainment.
Park MGM Las Vegas rooms
There are several different room categories ranging from a standard king or queen room up to nicer and more spacious suites. We booked a standard 2 queen bed room and ended up getting upgraded to a Stay Well category room.
The Stay Well rooms are slightly more expensive and intended to “bring health to your hotel stay.” Rest better with upgraded memory foam mattresses (super comfy), an air purifier system, aromatherapy, custom specialized lighting, and even a chlorine-minimizing shower infuser!
One drawback for us was that there was not a mini refrigerator in our room, which seems to be standard at most hotels these days and would have been easy to provide. When we travel with kids, we tend to bring a lot of drinks and snacks and it would really help to have a place to store the cold stuff.
The Park MGM hotel pool
There are actually 3 mid-sized pools at this hotel, which are all pretty nice. They are standard-sized pools, one of them being an adults-only pool, and there are comfy umbrella-shaded lounge chairs. You can also reserve cabanas and day beds, and there are 2 bars and poolside food service options available throughout the space.
The only drawback, in our opinion, is that they did get rid of the popular lazy river that this property used to have. We stayed at the Monte Carlo Resort many times in the past and the wave pool and lazy river were highlights for us. Otherwise, the space looks like a beautiful oasis.
A smoke-free casino in Vegas
We love that the Park MGM is a 100% smoke-free hotel! This is a huge plus for us because we are a non-smoking family and it is pretty hard to find smoke-free hotels and casinos in Vegas. We do appreciate that the Park MGM is a non-smoking hotel. If you are a smoker, they do have a couple of designated outdoor areas for you.
Restaurants in Park MGM Las Vegas hotel
There are a bunch of different bars and restaurants at Park MGM, including a steakhouse, a Korean BBQ restaurant (our friends ate here and LOVED it), an American-style grill, a Pan-Asian noodle restaurant, and even a Starbucks for your morning coffee run.
If you love Italian food, you’re in luck! They even have the popular Italian dining hall, Eataly, which is full of full-service restaurants, bars, quick-service food stands. They serve pizzas, pasta, wine, seafood, meats, gelato, espresso, and even little Italian shops to round out this cute marketplace.
Enjoy your family’s stay at the Park MGM Resort!
Would we stay here again? Absolutely! This Vegas property Park MGM’s location on the Strip is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars, and clubs, and has everything we need for a comfortable stay. We hope this Park MGM hotel Las Vegas review was helpful for you and your family!
