We went to TopGolf with kids and had such a great time! If you are thinking about taking your family to Top Golf, here’s what you can expect.
You’ll love visiting TopGolf with Kids
We spend quite a bit of time traveling as a family. We found ourselves in Phoenix, Arizona a few times and decided we wanted to try to play TopGolf in Glendale!
We heard that Top Golf was a fun place to go to try our hand at the sport of golf. As beginners, they have everything there you need to get started and it is perfect because it is game-based without having to cruise around a huge course in a golf cart!
What is TopGolf?
TopGolf is a fun, engaging golf game and entertainment venue that has a restaurant, full-service sports bar, and of course, golf! You can work on your driving skills while dancing to fun tunes, challenge your friends and family to see who wins and catch a game on the giant screen tv at the bar while sipping your favorite beverage.
The idea is to drive the ball into specific targets for points. Each of the golf balls is microchipped so they can be tracked as they are hit. You can choose golf games from beginner to advanced skill level and go from there. It is such a fun place for families of almost all ages!
Is Top Golf kid-friendly?
Yes, TopGolf is definitely good for kids! They have smaller golf clubs and beginner games that kids can try – they even have an Angry Birds game! I personally think that kids do so well because they are there to have fun and can socialize and be competitive at the same time. This totally beats video games at home!
Is Top Golf baby-friendly?
I would have to say no, I think that TopGolf is not a good place for babies and toddlers. There is simply nothing for them to do there and it is not safe for them to be crawling or toddling around the golf bays.
If you do have to bring your young children, be sure to keep a watchful eye. You will most likely be holding them or have them in a stroller the entire time, and there are adults drinking, swing golf clubs, and not much of a barrier between each of the golf bays. Wandering little ones can be dangerous!

Tips to make the most of your TopGolf visit
- Make Top Golf reservations in advance. The golf bays do fill up at peak times and you can be waiting for hours for a chance to play.
- Start with at least an hour of time. We went with 6 people (4 golfers) and started with an hour. We would have extended our time for a little longer if we didn’t have to leave. Anything less than an hour is not long enough, in my opinion.
- Practice your swings ahead of your turn, use the right club, and watch other successful golfers around you for tips.
- Save a little cash by going on a Tuesday! Many locations offer half-price Tuesdays, contact them to confirm before you make a reservation.
