Who is Honey + Lime

Our website address is https://www.honeyandlime.co. We are a personal blog with a digital presence, and collect some of your data when you visit our site.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect some of your personal data, such as name, email address, transactional and technical data, such as information about cookies. We only collect data for advertising purposes, and only when you’ve given your consent as a user. Your personal data is not just created by a user’s interactions with your site, it is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third-party embeds.

By default, the WordPress platform does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users. Some of our other third-party plugins and advertisers may use your data for those purposes only, again, only with your consent.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. We also ask for your website URL, but that is completely optional. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

We do not allow media uploads on this site.

Contact forms

We use a contact form plugin, MailChimp, which captures some of your personal data, including your personal email address, when you choose to submit it through the form. We keep contact form submissions for as long as you wish to be opted into our mail list, but we do not use the information submitted through them for marketing purposes. Read through Mail Chimp’s privacy policy here https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. There are no logins on this website.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

I track visits to my website for business and advertising purposes. Some web hosting and advertising accounts collect some anonymous analytics data. I track primarily with Google Analytics, and I also use JetPack, AdThrive, and my hosting company 1&1. Click each of those respective links to read their privacy policies, and learn how to opt out.
