Beautifully glowing skin is important when slipping into the fresh new fashions of spring. Scrub away that dry winter skin with a DIY brown sugar body scrub that can be created from ingredients that are natural (like sugar and essential oils) and easy to find.

The first thing you will need is an exfoliant, household sugar or salt work well for that purpose. We chose brown sugar because sugar is kinder to sensitive skin than salt, however salt works great on the stubborn dry, rough skin on elbows and heels. Brown sugar is good for the skin because it is natural and has smaller particles, which makes it best to use on the face and other sensitive skin areas.
Natural DIY Brown Sugar Body Scrub
To make a nice homemade sugar scrub that will invigorate and moisturize your skin, gather the following ingredients, locate a glass jar with a lid for storing your concoction, and create your scrub. This recipe can be adapted to your choice of fragrances or other additions.

How to make this brown sugar body scrub recipe
Combine the ingredients with a whisk and scoop the mixture into the glass jar.
The mixture will keep for 2-3 weeks. To use the scrub, simply immerse yourself into a warm bubble bath, spoon out the desired amount and gently rub it into your skin using a circular motion.
Sea salt can be used for those stubborn heels if you need a little extra coarseness. If you’re in a hurry and want to use a scrub as you take your morning shower, use the salt, the oil, and a teaspoon or two of lemon or orange zest for a quick, refreshing wake-up scrub. Experiment until you find just the right combination for you.
