Extra, Extra! Newspaper Baby Shower Theme Idea

A friend of mine is having twins, so we just showered her with gifts and love. This will be baby #4 and 5 for her, she’s gonna be one busy mama!

Her family threw the cutest baby shower, it was a black and white newspaper theme complete with news stand invitations, flower bouquets wrapped in newspaper, themed baby shower favors and even garland made with old newspapers! This could be a great idea for girls or boys, it’s totally neutral. I absolutely love how it turned out.

Here’s the newspaper-style invitation. Love it!

The sweets table. It was very elegant looking, the cupcakes had silver pearl candies on them and the scrabble letters with the twins’ names on the cake are too cute. I love how they wrapped the white bouquets of flowers in newspaper The donut holes and brownie bites were a nice, simple added touch.

A closer look…

The guests tables were dressed in white table cloths and decorated with fun elements. I really like the simple vase in the middle with the burlap wrap. Each of the place settings had water bottles and plates with napkins and utensils wrapped in a strip of newspaper. The shower games were ready to go, tied in twine with a pencil on top.

The set up. It would have been cute if the water bottles were wrapped in newspaper labels!

Here’s the gift table. Chairs with “Extra, Extra” pillows were ready for the mother and father-to-be. They used a cute diaper cake as table decoration.

The black and white twin diaper cake…

I thought this old typewriter was a nice touch. It was sitting on the table at the entry way where you could grab a name tag. The invitation was set in there, cute!

What do you think about this unisex baby shower idea? I personally love it! Clean cut and classy. A huge congrats to my friend and her new arrivals! Lovely baby shower for twins!
