Kid-friendly summer drinks
Looking for a family-friendly, kid-approved summer party drink recipe? How about using some sweet summer flavors combined to make a cool, refreshing beverage? On a hot afternoon, I swept through my refrigerator in search of a cold, refreshing drink.
Water is always good, but the kids and I wanted something a little more fun. We found fresh cherries and limes, so we figured it was the perfect time to make cherry drink recipes that are non-alcoholic. We decided on creating a cherry lime spritzer, a delicious cherry lime cocktail without alcohol!
Summer mocktails for kids
This non-alcoholic mocktail recipe was a hit with my kids. We used fresh fruits and Sweet’N Low, a substitute for sugar, to make this drink recipe perfect! We didn’t want to overdo it with the sugar content, so this sugar substitute or even Stevia works well.
You can use whatever type of sweetener you like. Whether it’s family time by the pool or a girl’s night in with the kiddos in tow, I am making this lovely non alcoholic summer drink with fresh lime juice and sweet cherries to enjoy at our next summer party. This is such an easy mocktail recipe to make at home.

I was surprised at how great it tasted using Sweet’N Low, not too sweet yet balancing the lime flavor out nicely. I don’t feel so bad about having a second or third glass, no sugar intake to watch here!
If you are not into using alternative sweeteners, you can substitute the Sweet N’ Low for 3 tbsp of sugar (or try some simple syrup, agave, stevia, etc). Otherwise, give this diabetic-friendly mocktail recipe a try this summer, your family will love it.
