I have heard so much about Seattle, a great city that boasts something awesome for pretty much every type of traveler. This city is on of my bucket list family travel destinations, just a hop, skip and a jump away from California.
5 Reasons I Want To Visit Seattle With My Family
The Space Needle – This is located in Seattle Center, a huge entertainment spot. The Space Needle shoots up high in the sky and is a big part of Seattle’s history. Go up 520 feet to the observation deck for 360 degree views of the city and even dine in the Skycity restaurant. http://spaceneedle.com/
Pike’s Place Market – This historic market has been open since the early 1099’s and is bustling with fruits and vegetables, gourmet bites, fresh fish, art, flowers, jewelry, souvenirs, and other booths. The original Starbucks is here, so I think it would be neat to check it out. Lots of different foods and people from all cultures here, I am a farmer’s market fan so a massive one like this makes me excited! http://pikeplacemarket.org/
Seattle Aquarium – We have been to many aquariums, so this one should be just as neat! The Seattle area is right on the water, so they’ve got an abundance of marine life to learn about and explore in a fun and exciting way. I’d love to visit the Puget Sound tide pools with my kids, getting up close and personal with the sea animals that you can touch! http://www.seattleaquarium.org/
Ferry Ride to Bainbridge Island – It looks like fun to take 35 minute ferry ride from Seattle to Bainbridge Island, a tourism centered place where you can eat, shop, play, drink and stay the night in one of their lovely accommodations. I’d personally visit the Kids Discovery Museum for a fun afternoon and the Island Renew Day Spa and Salon for a little R&R. http://www.bainbridgedowntown.org/
Pacific Science Center – My kids would love to visit this fun, hands on place in Seattle Center with plenty of educational exhibits, shows, films, and other scientific things to explore. Currently, you can learn about the science of sound and music in the laser dome or get a look inside the day to day lives of a naked mole rat with their special cameras. You can even visit Professor Wellbody’s Academy of Health & Wellness exhibit to learn about the human body and how it works. http://pacsci.org/
Hopefully this becomes a reality soon! For more information about tourism in Seattle, visit their website, http://www.visitseattle.org/
