Free Build A Turkey Printable Template for Kids

Thanksgiving crafts are lots of fun and this turkey craft is great for school-aged children. Make our color and cut turkey with your kids this Thanksgiving. The free printable turkey cut-out template and instructions can be found below.

Materials needed for this build-a-turkey project

Download our Thanksgiving build-a-turkey printable template
A printer and white standard-sized paper (cardstock preferred)
Crayons or colored pencils
Scissors (age-appropriate)
School glue

Print out the turkey cut out template

To get started, click the image below to print out the build a turkey template. A PDF will open in a new window. This printable is 8.5×11-inches in size, so you can print this out on a standard-sized piece of paper. Make sure it’s set to “fit to page” when you print, and we do recommend that you print on white card stock paper if you have it.

Color this printable turkey template

Break out the crayons or colored pencils and color each of the turkey’s parts on the turkey cut-out template. Get creative and color the body, feathers, wings, and other body parts with any colors you choose.

How to Make the Printable Cut-Out Turkey

Next, when you are finished coloring, cut out each of the turkey parts and build your turkey! You can put your turkey together however you wish, but here is the order of steps we took to build ours:

Flip the body upside down
Glue on the feathers, colored side down
Flip the turkey back over and glue on the face – eyes, wattle, then the triangle nose in the middle
Glue on the wings
Glue on the feet
