I loved ice skating at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, New York! Such a fun way to celebrate the holiday season in this iconic ice rink.
Ever since I was a child, I watched the holiday coverage of New York city and the iconic Rockefeller Center ice rink. I used to ice skate every weekend in elementary school, so when i’d see it on TV, I imagined how awesome it would be to skate there.
Well, I finally got the chance to go ice skating at Rockefeller Center, and, 20 years later, it was still a dream come true! I went on a trip to New York with Kellogg’s to learn about their Great Starts program. It just so happens that they have partnered with winter Olympic athletes from Team USA and we’d be meeting, hanging out with, and even skating with them!

I met world champion figure skating duo Charlie White and Meryl Davis, who came down to the rink that was specially reserved for our group. They did a small segment for the Today Show and skated around the rink with us and a bunch of kids who were chasing and running from Charlie. Oh man, they were having a blast!
I asked Charlie if he ever ice skates for the fun of it, he said that this was the most fun he’d had on the ice in years. I wish my kids could have been here to experience this!
Caryn from Rockin’ Mama and I getting the hang of the slippery ice!
I loved everything about ice skating at Rockefeller Center’s ice rink. If you are in the area, take your family for a fun afternoon on the ice! All of the kids had a blast, I might as well just let you all know that I did too. Young at heart. Be sure to bundle up, it’s cold in NYC!
Thanks again, Kellogg’s, for an amazing trip!

I attended a press trip courtesy of Kellogg’s. Travel, lodging and other logistics are provided, opinions are those of Honey + Lime.
That’s so awesome. I have always wanted to go there during the holidays and skate! I just think it would be a magical experience. Hopefully one of these years I will get to do it!
Wow! Such a cool experience. Are you going to cheer them on at the Olympics now? I hope they win! Figure skating is my favorite spot and Meryl and Charlie are such gorgeous ice dancers. I thought they should have won in 2010 and this will be their year for sure!
I was there a couple of years ago and we loved it! We ate at restaurant right by the rink and saw a few people propose on the ice, it was so romantic. How wonderful that you got to spend some time in NYC!
