La Casa Del Zorro’s stunning resort in located north east of San Diego, about a two hour drive gets you to this off the beaten path paradise. This Borrego Springs resort is nestled right inside Anza Borrego State Park and boasts classic architecture, rustic desert style decor, private casitas, restaurants, a spa, gym, 26 swimming pools (yes, you read that right), tennis courts, golf, outdoor games, cactus galore, and so much more. I thought it was going to be deathly hot, but the high was only in the 90’s the weekend we visited, not bad at all for the desert!

Who goes to the desert in the summer?

I’ll tell you who. Someone who want to relax, to unwind. Someone who wants to throw away all of their responsibilities for the moment and have a little fun. We went to La Casa Del Zorro Resort & Spa in Borrego Springs and loved every moment. This is just what my family needed, a little R&R, some sunshine, great food, a little pampering and a whole lot of swimming! If you’re looking for a SoCal getaway, this is it.

A tranquil, yet scenic luxury desert atmosphere

Borrego Springs is a small desert town, so it’s a quiet place with plenty of land that is perfect for this resort. Picturesque mountains and scenery surround the area, we drove through all of it and it was surreal. When we got to the resort, we were so excited to find out that we’d have our own two-bedroom house! This property has recently been renovated, the charm of the place received a wonderful upgrade yet kept the desert feel of the resort.

Luxury desert accommodations and amenities at La Casa Del Zorro Borrego Springs

The casitas at La Casa Del Zorro resort are filled with luxury amenities, you can truly relax and make yourself at home. I love the unique charm of each one, and most of them have their own swimming pools! You can also choose from garden and deluxe rooms, but I recommend renting a casita. There is a four bedroom that we toured, loved it!

It connects to the Fox Den Bar and Grill and the main dining room and the main pool. I love the wood beams in the ceilings, some of the rooms with high ceilings have them too.

Swimming in Borrego Springs

This is the main pool near the Fox Den. Beach balls galore, and it’s right out the door from the bar so you can order food and drinks. So much fun!

For a little adult time, La Casa Del Zorro Resort & Spa has a Kids Club that offers supervised swimming, games, scavenger hunts, crafts, and lunch. I sent mine there for a couple of hours during my massage and they had fun, they went on a rock scavenger hunt to collect rocks to paint, and made their own ice cream sundaes! When I picked them up, we came right to the pool. My kids had a blast, the shallow end is only 2 feet so my toddler was able to stand up!

At La Casa del Zorro Resort & Spa, you can choose to stay in a casita. This is the private pool in the four bedroom casita. It has a patio area and a private cabana. What if you had this in your backyard? Stunning!

I loved everything about this beautiful resort, it’s truly a relaxing getaway in the calm desert. Bring your swimsuits and don’t forget to book your spa appointment, I had a lovely Swedish massage.
