When I learned about the limited edition TruMoo® Chocolate Marshmallow Milk, a bell went off in my head: I AM MAKING GOURMET HOT CHOCOLATE. I stopped into a Target store to grab a carton, the kids were pretty excited and wanted me to open it in the car! We all love the flavor, it’s the perfect blend of hormone-free milk with chocolate and a light marshmallow flavor. At that moment, I knew… it was meant to be.

I don’t think that I need to use words to describe the deliciousness of this hot cocoa recipe. Do you see what this looks like?! I have always loved the warmth and sweetness that hot chocolate brings during the colder months, so it was a must that I turn it up a notch (we have also made salted caramel hot cocoa in the past – amazing!). This homemade hot chocolate recipe is the best I have ever had, thick, rich, and full of flavor.

Gourmet Rocky Road Hot Chocolate

makes 4 servings

Ingredients

• 4 cups TruMoo® Chocolate Marshmallow Milk (or any chocolate milk)
• 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/4 cup sugar
• marshmallows
• sliced almonds
• chocolate syrup

How to make this hot cocoa recipe

You can easily whip this up in a large saucepan in about 5 minutes. Bring the milk to a boil, combine the cocoa powder and sugar in a bowl. When the milk is super hot, slowly stir in the cocoa sugar mixture until it dissolves. Pour into mugs and garnish with the hot cocoa toppings – mini marshmallows, chocolate syrup, then sliced almonds. That’s it, it’s ready!
