We love summer dishes and this honey mint pineapple fruit salad is the perfect one to try! Served in a fresh pineapple bowl, I just love it’s presentation!
Summertime is just around the corner, which means it’s time to take advantage of the longer days, warmer nights and fresh food with friends and family for lots of fun! I definitely plan to entertain guests this summer, hang out poolside and enjoy plenty of days at the beach. When hosting a summer soiree, it is important to fill your guests with the best feelings as soon as they enter your home to make them feel welcome and set the tone for the rest of their stay. Encompass your entrance with an inviting fragrance (I like any of the new Limited Edition Spring Collection fragrances from Glade®), decorate your outdoor space with brightly colored patterns and serve light and delicious appetizers and beverages throughout the evening. This honey and mint pineapple fruit salad is the perfect dish to serve!
To create a welcoming atmosphere for guests, I used Let Loose™ Glade® Plugins® Scented Oil in the entryway of my home. The scent, which has a sweet tropical and fruity smell with hints of pineapple and orange, inspired me to create a delicious tropical summer menu. Fresh, whole pineapples are perfect for a number of reasons, but the best way to use them is as presentation for your food and drinks. Serve this refreshing honey, pineapple and mint fruit salad at your next get together. It’s the perfect cool treat on a hot summer day!
Honey mint pineapple fruit salad – served in a pineapple bowl!
Ingredients:
- 1 whole fresh pineapple
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 cup halved strawberries
- 1 cup mandarin oranges
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh mint, chopped
Cut and hollow out the pineapple. Slice it down the middle vertically, so that you have two halves from top to bottom as pictured below.
Next, take one of the pineapple halves and carefully cut the fruit out of the middle, without puncturing the sides. Once you cut the pineapple in half, you’ll find a decent amount of pineapple juice inside, DON’T DISCARD IT! In a small bowl, mix honey, mint and the left over juice and set aside. Cut up the pineapple, mango and strawberries into small pieces and mix it into the honey mint mixture, along with the remainder of your fruit. Toss until coated.
Scoop the fruit salad mixture into the hollow pineapple and voila! You have a delicious, presentable summer pineapple fruit salad! I really like how this turned out, it tastes great and my kids were all over it. My favorite part is the presentation. You could also serve this fruit salad on top of a bed of banana leaves and use the smaller pineapples to hold your beverages. Add a little colorful umbrella and you’re all set for summer!
By incorporating the sweet fruity scents of Glade® Let Loose™ fragranceinto my home and menu, I was able to create the #best feelings for my family and friends! I love that you can change the scents as the seasons change. It inspires me to get this summer started – especially when there are hints of tropical flavors like orange, pineapple and passion fruit in the air.
