How to make DIY reindeer ornaments with popsicle sticks
Step 1: Connect the popsicle sticks, add the hanger
Place 3 popsicle sticks evenly onto your surface. Cut the 4th popsicle stick into 4-5 pieces, add glue, and glue down the pieces horizontally onto the back of the 3 sticks to attach.
First, glue on the bottom and middle pieces. Then, cut a piece of ribbon to twice your desired hanging length and glue the ends together to the top section into a loop, see the image below.
Finally, to cover the ends of the ribbon, glue the last small stick piece over the top of the ribbon.
If adults are doing the gluing, a hot glue gun works best and dries the fastest. Otherwise, if the kids are using school glue, they will need to allow the popsicle stick ornament to dry for 5 minutes or so.
Step 2: Add the pipe cleaner reindeer antlers
Now, cut a standard pipe cleaner in half and thread it around the middle popsicle stick. Ensure the ends are the same length, twist them together tightly around the back of the ornament, and press them upward to create the antlers.
Step 3: Add the reindeer ornament face
Next, you will create the reindeer face. Add two dots of glue for the eyes, and another dot of glue in the middle for the red nose. Let the glue sit and dry.
Now hang your DIY popsicle stick reindeer ornament and admire! We love the way these look on our tree, they match our existing decor and we feel proud to have made our popsicle stick Christmas ornaments.
